Use advice for data set The scope of this EPD is cradle to gate with options, modules C1-C4 and module D. No actions are necessary during User stage.
Technical purpose of product or process StoLotusan® K/MP is a finishing render with Lotus-Effect® technology. It consists of a binder based on polymer dispersion, mineral fillers such as marble granulate, water and small amounts of additives. It can be used for exterior application on masonry, insulated and rainscreen cladding facades with a base coat as well as on mineral and organic substrates. The application process can be done manually or using machinery. There are two versions of StoLotusan® K/MP: -one version without incapsulated film preservative agent [PROD5025 K and PROD5024 MP] -one version with incapsulated film preservation [PROD0510 K and PROD0511 MP] This EPD calculates the LCA of StoLotusan® K/MP with incapsulated film preservation and is therefore considered a worst case scenario valid for both versions. Due to the use of different sized marble granulate, the products texture differs: StoLotusan® K is a finishing render with Lotus-Effect® technology for a stippled texture. StoLotusan® MP is a finishing render with Lotus-Effect® Technology for fine-grained free-style textures. StoLotusan® K/MP has the following properties: -render in accordance with EN 15824 -Lotus-Effect® Technology: dirt runs off with the rain -strongly supported self-cleaning effect when exposed to rain -A2-s1, d0 in accordance with EN 13501-1 -very high CO2 and water vapour permeability -very highly weather-resistant -with high-quality marble grains made of natural deposits For the placing on the market of the product in the European Union/European Free Trade Association (EU/EFTA) (with the exception of Switzerland) Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (CPR) applies. The product needs a declaration of performance taking into consideration EN 15824:2017 render/plaster with organic binding agents and the CE-marking. For the application and use the respective national provisions apply. The following data is required by the corresponding PCR B. Further information can be found on the Safety Data Sheet on www.sto.de. 1) This product contains substances listed in the candidate list (date: 10.02.2025) exceeding 0.1 percentage by mass: no. 2) This product contains other CMR substances in categories 1A or 1B which are not on the candidate list, exceeding 0.1 percentage by mass: yes titanium dioxide, pigment, >= 1 - < 10 CAS-nr.: 13463-67-7 3) Biocide products were added to this construction product or it has been treated with biocide products (this then concerns a treated product as defined by the (EU) Ordinance on Biocide Products No. 528/2012): yes 1,2-Benzisothiazol-3(2H)-on, in-can preservative 2-Octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-on, dry film preservative Terbutryn, dry film preservative Zinkpyrithion, dry film preservative reaction mass of 5-Chlor-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-on and 2-Methyl-2H;isothiazol-3-on (3:1), in-can preservative The material composition of the declared mixed product is given below:

General comment on data set Data quality: Specific data for the product composition are provided by the manufacturer. The data represent the production of the declared product and were collected for EPD development in the year of study. Background data is based on EPDs according to EN 15804 and different LCA databases. The data quality of the raw materials in A1 is presented in the table below. Allocation: The allocation is made in accordance with the provisions of EN 15804. Incoming energy and water and waste production in-house is allocated equally among all products through mass allocation. Effects of primary production of recycled materials is allocated to the main product in which the material was used. The recycling process and transportation of the material is allocated to this analysis. Cut-off criteria: All major raw materials and all the essential energy is included. The production processes for raw materials and energy flows with very small amounts (less than 1%) are not included. These cut-off criteria do not apply for hazardous materials and substances.

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
