| Use advice for data set | The approach is “cradle to gate” (A1–A3) with modules A4, C1–C4, D and optional module A5 (A1–A3 + A4 – A5 + C + D). The production process starts from raw materials, that are purchased from external and intercompany suppliers and stored in the plant. Bulk raw materials are stored in specific silos and added automatically in the production mixer, according to the formula of the product. Other raw materials, supplied in bags, big bags or tanks, are stored in the warehouse and added automatically or manually in the mixer. The production is a discontinuous process, in which all the components are mechanically mixed in batches. The semi-finished product is then packaged, put on wooden pallets and stored in the finished products warehouse. The quality of final products is controlled before the sale. |
| Technical purpose of product or process | Nonset 120 SR is used for concrete repair, joints and foundation work in thicknesses less than 50 mm. Mixed mortar must be placed within 40 minutes after mixing to avoid losing expansion. Examples of use: - Anchoring of concrete reinforcement in concrete and rock. - Fixing minor foundations in concrete elements. - Grouting of horizontal non-moving joints. Nonset 120 SR is supplied in 25 kg sacks., 1000 kg big-bags and bulk. For more information see the TDS (Technical Data Sheet) on Mapei AS website (www.mapei.com/no). |

| General comment on data set | Data quality: Specific data for the product composition are provided by the manufacturer. The data represent the production of the declared product and were collected for EPD development in the year of study. Background data is based on EPDs according to EN 15804 and different LCA databases. The data quality of the raw materials in A1 is presented in the table below. Allocation: The allocation is made in accordance with the provisions of EN 15804. Incoming energy and water and waste production in-house is allocated equally among all products through mass allocation. Effects of primary production of recycled materials is allocated to the main product in which the material was used. The recycling process and transportation of the material is allocated to this analysis. Cut-off criteria: All major raw materials and all the essential energy is included. The production processes for raw materials and energy flows with very small amounts (less than 1%) are not included. These cut-off criteria do not apply for hazardous materials and substances. |

| Technology description including background system | Nonset 120 SR is a cement-based dry mortar, which expands 1 - 3 % before setting. The mortar is composed of sulphate;resistant cement, well-graded sand, expanding, stabilising and plastifying substances. Nonset 120 SR responds to the principles defined in EN 1504-9 (“Products and systems for protecting and repairing concrete structures: definitions, requirements, quality control and conformity assessment. General principles for the use of products and systems”) and the minimum requirements of EN 1504-3 (“Structural and non-structural repairs”) for structural R4-class mortars and the minimum requirements of EN 1504-6 (“Anchoring of reinforcing bars”). |
