Mapecoat Universal
Use advice for data set The approach is “cradle to gate” (A1–A3) with modules C1–C4 and module D and optional modules (A1–A3 + A4 – A5 + C + D): • A1, A2, A3 (Product stage): extraction and processing of raw materials and packaging (A1), transportation up to the factory gate (A2), manufacturing of the finished product (A3). • A4 – A5 (Construction process stage): transport of the finished product to final customers and installation into the building. • C1, C2, C3, C4 (End of Life stage): With a collection rate of 100% as C&D waste, the transports are carried out by lorry over 100 km (C2). A recycling ratio (C3) of 70% is considered in accordance with the European Directive 2008/98/CE. The remaining 30% is landfilled (C4). • D (Resource recovery stage): contains credits from the recycling of the product in module C3 and the credit from the incineration of a fraction of packaging waste. At the end of life, the product can be collected and recycled for use in substitution of virgin raw aggregates
Technical purpose of product or process Mapecoat Universal is a two-component, transparent epoxy binder for concrete floors, walls, ceilings, etc. It gives a chemically resistant, hard, smooth surface that is easy to clean. Mapecoat Universal exhibits minimal yellowing compared to other epoxy binders. Mapecoat Universal complies with the principles defined in EN 1504-9 standards (“Products and systems for protecting and repairing concrete structures. Definitions, requirements, quality control and conformity assessment. General principles for the use and application of systems”), and the requirements of EN 1504-2 (“Protection systems for concrete surfaces”) for class: products for protecting surfaces - coating (C) - PI, IR, PR and MC. Mapecoat Universal complies with the principles defined in EN 13813 (“Screeds and materials for screeds - Materials for screeds - Properties and requirements”), which specifies the requirements for screed materials used in the construction of internal floors. Mapecoat Universal is available in different set option: • 1 kg set: component A = 0.67 kg and component B = 0.33 kg • 3 kg set: component A = 2 kg and component B = 1 kg • 12 kg set: component A = 8 kg and component B = 4 kg • 20 kg set: component A = 13.33 kg and component B 6.67 kg • 300 kg set: component A = 200 kg drums and component B = 100 kg drum • 600 kg set: component A = 2 x 200 kg drums and component B = 200 kg drum • 1500 kg set: component A = 1000 kg IBC and component B = 500 kg IBC • 3000 kg set: component A = 2 x 1000 kg IBC and component B = 1000 kg IBC For more information see the TDS (Technical Data Sheet) on Mapei AS website (www.mapei.com/NO).

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
