Key Data Set Information
Location DK
Geographical representativeness description IBF Box culvert is delivered within an average distance of 150 km from the production site; IBF Ringe, Denmark.
Reference year 2025
Name
IBF Box culvert
Technical purpose of product or process This Product EPD covers IBF Box culvert produced at IBF Ringe, Denmark. It is based on the most sold type in 2024: 4000 x 2500 x 2400 mm. IBF Box culverts are used as retention basins and sewer conduits for underpasses beneath roads, railways, and in locations where a large cross-section is required. The EPD includes lifting anchors, reinforcement, spacers, etc., but does not include any optional loose sealing rings. The values in the table below have been declared to nearest whole number. The calculation covers a pipe with 11 % reinforcement.

General comment on data set Data quality: Specific data for the product composition are provided by the manufacturer. The data represent the production of the declared product and were collected for EPD development in the year of study. Background data is based on EPDs according to EN 15804 and different LCA databases. The data quality of the raw materials in A1 is presented in the table below. A1 - A3 data: 2024, recipe data: 2024. The EPD is calculated with a cement-EPD based on the netto approach. Netto approach means that the CO2 from the use of secondary fuels are not included. Allocation: The allocation is made in accordance with the provisions of EN 15804. Incoming energy and water and waste production in-house is allocated equally among all products through mass allocation. Effects of primary production of recycled materials is allocated to the main product in which the material was used. The recycling process and transportation of the material is allocated to this analysis. Cut-off criteria: All major raw materials and all the essential energy is included. The production processes for raw materials and energy flows with very small amounts (less than 1%) are not included. These cut-off criteria do not apply for hazardous materials and substances.

Data set valid until 2030
Time representativeness description 2025-08-18 - 2030-08-18
Technological representativeness
Technology description including background system The result in the EPD is based on 1 ton of IBF Box Culvert. Therefore, the result must be multiplied by the weight of the product. Weight of pipe with dimensions 4000 x 2500 x 2400 mm: 27,3 tonnes The pipes are produced and tested according to DS/EN 14844, Precast concrete products – Box culverts. Factory production control is certified by Bureau Veritas Certification (certificate no. 0615-CPR-9527). 1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
