Use advice for data set The EPD is a cradle-to-grave analysis, A1-D, where some B-stages (use phase) that were assumed to be neglectable are not included. The A1-A4 stages includes the extraction and production of raw materials, transportation to the production site, the production process itself, and an estimated transport distance to the market. A5 includes the generated waste from the packaging of the product after assembly at the customer. The only B stage that is assumed to be relevant is B2. This stage includes assumptions on how the customer takes care of the product according to Abstracta's care instructions. The C- and D-stages includes the use of materials and energy for deconstruction, the transport to waste management, the waste processes, disposal of materials that cannot be processed, and the potential of reuse, recovery, and recycling of the product.
Technical purpose of product or process Abstracta and art platform Wall of Art have collaborated to develop a unique solution that combines acoustics with art. The objective is to create harmonious soundscapes while giving spaces personality and character with works from exciting artists. Abstracta x Wall of Art is uncompromising in terms of art, acoustics, and choice of materials. Behind the motifs, which are printed on cotton fabric is an effective sound absorber made from textile waste and polyester reclaimed from recycled PET bottles to ensure minimal environmental impact. Together with its well-crafted oak frame, the cotton fabric helps to enhance tactile feel and create an elegant overall impression, suiting the panels well to settings like restaurants, hotel lobbies, and co-working spaces. For more information about the product, visit the product page https://abstracta.se/product/abstracta-wall-of-art-acoustic-art-panels/ The acoustic art panels are available in three sizes: 100 x 140 cm, 70 x 100 cm, and 50 x 70 cm. Their elegant frames are either of untreated or dark-oiled oak. Although the panels are no thicker than 45 millimeters, their acoustic capacity is very high. They effectively absorb ambient noise, making them ideal for busy, noisy environments. So, go ahead and combine multiple panels with each other – both to create a visually expressive ensemble and to further enhance the soundscape of your space. This EPD includes these variants: Abstracta x Wall of Art Oak frame 725x1025x30 Abstracta x Wall of Art Oak frame 1025x1425x30 See the product sheet for more information: https://abstracta.se/app/uploads/2023/05/product-sheet-woa.pdf

General comment on data set Data quality: Specific data for the product composition are provided by the manufacturer. They represent the production of the declared product and were collected for EPD development in the year of study. Background data is based on registered EPDs according to EN 15804, Ostfold Research databases, ecoinvent and other LCA databases. The data quality of the raw materials in A1 is presented in the table below. Allocation: The allocation is made in accordance with the provisions of EN 15804. Incoming energy and water and waste production in-house is allocated equally among all products through mass allocation. Effects of primary production of recycled materials is allocated to the main product in which the material was used. The recycling process and transportation of the material is allocated to this analysis. Cut-off criteria: All major raw materials and all the essential energy is included. The production processes for raw materials and energy flows with very small amounts (less than 1%) are not included. These cut-off criteria do not apply for hazardous materials and substances.

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
